Collection: Ptychosaurus - Triassic Reptile from the USA
The Phytosaurus lived during the Late Triassic (approx. 230–200 million years ago) in what is now the United States. Though resembling crocodiles, phytosaurs belonged to a distinct lineage of Archosaurs. They inhabited rivers, swamps, and lakes, hunting fish and small animals.
Phytosaurus fossils, including teeth, jaws, and bones, provide an important glimpse into life just before dinosaurs became the dominant terrestrial animals. Their fossils are rare and highly sought-after by collectors of Triassic fauna.
