Collection: Citrine for sale

Citrine is a warm, golden-yellow to amber-colored quartz type. It has a glossy sheen and a hexagonal crystal structure; it frequently develops in clusters.

While amethyst or smokey quartz are occasionally marketed as citrine, true citrine has a more muted and consistent color. It is valued for its transparency and brilliant color and can be found in igneous and metamorphic rocks. Uruguay,Russia, Madagascar, and Brazil are common sources.

Citrine is utilized in jewelry and decorative items and is thought to bring abundance and positivity due to its metaphysical qualities.

Burnt amethyst, often referred to as heat-treated amethyst, is commonly sold as citrine, but it is not true citrine. True citrine is a naturally occurring quartz that gets its color from trace amounts of iron.

In contrast, burnt amethyst achieves its yellow to orange color through artificial heat treatment, which changes the color of the purple amethyst to mimic citrine. While visually similar, natural citrine and heat-treated amethyst differ in origin and chemical properties. It is important for buyers to distinguish between the two, as natural citrine is generally considered more valuable.
