- Devonian (~370 million years old)
Orthoceras fossil from the Devonian period (~370 million years ago), found in the black limestone formations of Morocco. A stunning piece of prehistoric marine life.
Orthoceras, meaning “straight horn,” is an extinct cephalopod related to modern squids, octopuses, and nautiluses. These fossils are easily recognized by their elongated, segmented shells and are some of the oldest known marine fossils.
Each piece is unique and often displays multiple fossils within a single slab of natural limestone.
