This exceptional insect fossil originates from the renowned Daohugou Biota of Inner Mongolia, China, one of the most important fossil locations from the Middle to Late Jurassic period (approx. 165 million years ago).

The Daohugou deposits are famous for their extraordinary preservation, often capturing delicate anatomical details such as wings, legs, and body segmentation.
