Jikharra 001 is a HED achondrite (eucrite-melt breccia) made up of several centimeter-sized lithic clasts embedded in copious recrystallised shock melt.

Eucrites are achondritic stony meteorites considered to have originated on the surface of the massive asteroid (or minor planet) 4 Vesta. Vesta is the second largest body in the asteroid belt, measuring 326 miles across. 4 Vesta, like Earth, has differentiated layers of crust, mantle, and core, implying that it is the relic of a larger shattered planet.
