Its name translates to "shark-toothed," reflecting its characteristic sharp and serrated teeth, similar to those of modern-day sharks. Carcharodontosaurus was one of the largest known carnivorous dinosaurs, with estimates suggesting it reached lengths of up to 40 to 46 feet (12 to 14 meters) and weighed around 6 to 8 tons. It had a long, powerful tail, muscular hind limbs, and relatively short arms with three-fingered hands.
