Collection: Carboniferous Fossils – Age of Giant Forests and Insects

The Carboniferous Period (359–299 million years ago) is famous for its vast swamp forests, where giant trees, ferns, and horsetails thrived. During this time, amphibians diversified, the first reptiles appeared, and insects grew to enormous sizes—such as dragonflies with wingspans up to 70 cm.

Our collection of Carboniferous fossils mainly includes fossilized plants and early vertebrates. These specimens bring to life the lush ecosystems of the ancient coal swamps and make a fascinating addition to any fossil collection.
