The Cretaceous Period (145–66 million years ago) was the final stage of the Mesozoic, marked by incredible diversity. Dinosaurs such as Triceratops, Spinosaurus, and Tyrannosaurus rex dominated the land, while ammonites and mosasaurs thrived in the seas. The first flowering plants also appeared, reshaping ecosystems.
