Update for U.S. Customers - Changes to U.S. Import Rule / DDP shipments
Last update: 27th of october
Update: We Now Ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid)
As of October 2025, Fossils And More ships all U.S. orders DDP - Delivered Duty Paid.
This means we handle all import-related charges and customs processing on your behalf.
You will not receive additional invoices from carriers like DHL, UPS, or FedEx for customs duties or import taxes.
About the De Minimis Change
The United States recently ended the de minimis exemption (effective August 29, 2025).
This policy previously allowed shipments under $800 to enter the country duty-free and without formal customs clearance.
Now, all shipments must be processed by U.S. Customs, regardless of value.
What This Means for You
-
Fossils remain duty-free under U.S. tariff code HTS 9705.00.0090 (“Collectors’ pieces of paleontological interest”).
-
However, customs and import administration fees may still apply.
-
Fossils And More now collects a fee at checkout (this is already included in the item prices).
-
This covers any duties, brokerage costs, and handling charges incurred during customs clearance.
-
You will not be charged any additional fees upon delivery.
-
Our Responsibilities
-
Fossils And More acts as the Importer of Record for your shipment.
-
We prepay all import-related costs to ensure a smooth delivery experience.
-
We provide full customs documentation, including the correct tariff classification (HTS 9705.00.0090) and scientific fossil details.
Your Benefits
-

-
Transparent pricing the price you see at checkout is the final price you pay.
