The Gebel Kamil meteorite is a remarkable iron meteorite that fell in Egypt, in the area of the Western Desert near the Gebel Kamil crater. This meteorite is known for its composition, structure, and association with the 45-meter-wide Kamil Crater, and was considered one of the best-preserved impact craters on Earth. Recently the site has been heavily damaged by people searching for debris.
This crater was discovered on Google Earth and in 2009 an expedition reached the crater.
