This is a genuine fragment of the iron Agoudal meteorite, sourced from the High Atlas Mountains in Morocco.
The Agoudal Meteorite, also known as Imilchil, is believed to have fallen around 40,000 years ago, potentially creating the well-known lakes of “Islit” and “Tislit” in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Discovered in 2000, these meteorites gained attention when a piece sold to a dealer in Errich was identified as an iron meteorite. Subsequent searches around the lakes unearthed numerous irregularly shaped, small meteorite fragments, with the largest recovered piece weighing 60 kilograms.
