This authentic pathological Otodus obliquus tooth originates from Morocco and dates to the Eocene period. Unlike typical specimens, this tooth shows a clear natural deformation, caused by trauma, disease, or developmental irregularities during the shark’s lifetime.
Pathological shark teeth are significantly rarer than normal examples and offer valuable insight into the life history and injuries of prehistoric sharks. Despite the deformation, the tooth retains recognizable Otodus obliquus features such as the main cusp and characteristic side cusplets.
