- Devonian period (~390 million years)
A beautifully preserved rare Zlichovaspis trilobite fossil from the Devonian period, found in the famous trilobite beds of Morocco. Dating back around 390 million years, this species showcases the fine detail and symmetry that make trilobites such iconic fossils.
The specimen shows incredible facetted eyes, the distinct curved cephalon and detailed thorax typical of Zlichovaspis rugosa, expertly prepared in a "flying" pose above its natural matrix. An excellent piece for fossil collectors.
Carefully extracted from the famous fossil beds of Morocco.
As with many of these beautifully prepared trilobites, they come attached to a plastic container for protection. As shown on one of the pictures.
